At first I wanted to do a mint liner but decided to have a little more fun. I ended up putting mint all over the lid and pairing it up with a bold purple and sparkly pink. Hope you like this look:) Thanks for stopping by, I really do appreciate it! :)

Spring Essential: Pretty as a Peach

Hi everyone! So today I come back with this Bath and Body works pick up. I had one of those coupons where I get either a shower gel or lotion for free so I saw this peach shower gel and had to pick up its counterpart as well, the fragrance mist.

If you guys know anything about Bath and Body Works you would know that they are constantly recycling their scents as the seasons change. Spring is in season and so that means Peach is in too!

The scent is pretty self explanatory. It smells delicious and sweet like peaches! :) I will be the first to admit, the feminine packaging totally drew me in (good job Bath and Body works design/artwork team!). I do, however, love the scent of peaches. ( I used to have a kindergarden baby that smelled like peaches when I was a little girl that I loved dearly. Do you guys remember those dolls from the 90's?) I was actually pretty impressed with the lasting power on this. Usually body sprays last at the most 3 hours and this lasted a good 5 hours, almost twice the long than the average body spray.

What scents have you been sporting lately?
Have a sweeeet day! ;)

Five ways to save money when buying makeup

Whenever I purchase makeup, I always think of, "How can I save money and not have to pay full price?" Now, if my parents or other disapproving people were to read this article, they would probably say, "JUST DON'T BUY MAKEUP. THAT'S HOW YOU WOULD SAVE MONEY. DUH, JESSICA, DUH!" But for all my beauty enthusiasts/rebels who refuse for those judgemental stares to turn them to mush and continue to build their beauty/makeup collection, here are my favorite ways to save some cash as I buy.

1. EBATES
Before you even go shopping online, always pop into Ebates, log in, click the store and it will redirect you to the stores page. ONLY with that page that Ebates redirected you with, you will be able to get cashback. The way Ebates works is that you will get a percentage of what you spent back. You can either receive it through a check in the mail or through paypal. It's super easy!

2. ON CLEARANCE SECTION
Who doesn't love the Clearance section? Whether you are shopping at Target, Walmart, Sephora, etc. always check the clearance section! Usually the clearance section has stuff that the store wants to get rid to make room for other new stuff. Many times that means that it's your last chance to get it before it's gone for good!

3.VALUE SETS
Sephora Favorites, holidays sets, MakeupGeek Bundle Sets, Urban Decay Vaults, ELF bundles, perfume sets, Bath and Body Works black friday tote to name just a few things that come to my mind when I think of value sets. Value Sets usually means you have to pay more in one sitting in order to get more and save some money if you were instead to buy the products individually. This Sephora Favorites Set is an example of a value set.

4. SALES/DISCOUNTS
Sephoras recent BI/VIB/VIBROUGE sale is a great example of this. I always catch Tartes website having sales as well as Coastal Scents and Urban Decay. Some other sites can be a little more stubborn into giving us discounts which is why I keep my eyes extra open during Black Friday and Cyber Monday for those hard to find sales. (ex. Labor day sale, 4th of July sale). Subscribing to online to newsletters is a great way to keep up to date on what sales are on.

5. OUTLETS
Nordstrom Rack, CCO's Off Saks Fifth Avenue, Allcosmeticswholesales website, Hautelook, Overstock are some outlets that I like to shop from that I know are reliable.( Hautelook offers 50% off The Balm!)

Some extra ways I like to save money overall...
-I always take into consideration on the shipping costs and how much I have to spend to get free shipping.
- I try to stay away from paying for deluxe sizes ( I will be writing a post on this very soon!) because I can usually get them for free.
-Check what you can get with your purchase (samples, deluxe sized or free full sized item, coupons for next time purchase)

What are some ways you like to save money when buying beauty related products? Have a great week! <3

Friday Fashion Find

Welcome back everyone! I am sooo happy it's finally Friday. This week has felt extra long for me and I am just thankful it's payday and weekend fun time. (Who's going to go watch The Jungle Book?)

Update: As I try to figure out more and more about the identity I want my blog to have, I realize that as much as I love makeup, I don't want to just talk about makeup. I want to talk on a more general basis of beauty which includes fashion, lifestyle and art. I find all those things... beautiful. So I hope you continue to enjoy my humble little blog as much as I enjoy blogging for you! :)

So enough of that! Today's Fashion Find is the cutest little purse. Ever. As soon as I saw it, my own heart leapt with joy. Those who know me personally know that this gets me going. I love anything that has spikes and rhinestones. In fact, I am almost certain that my own beating heart looks like this. That's how I know how much this was meant for me. I picked this up from Amazons website from a brand called Cupcake Cult.
It's a hard cased, black, plastic shell in the shape of a heart with two sized spikes. It has a chrome skull which is encrusted with rhinestones. The chain strap is also chrome as well as detachable.
As you can see, it's really small. Its suitable to carry credit cards, cash, coins, a lipstick or two, pads/tampons, (maybe) a phone, keys, etc. Basically just the basics. I do wish it was a tad bit bigger though because I can't even fit my phone in there when it's in it's case. It's still really cute and one reason I was on the hunt for a small crossbody purse was because I wanted to downsize what I carry around in a purse. As many women do... I am guilty of over-stuffing my bag with unnecessary stuff to the point where my back has been hurting. This crossbody/clutch really takes care of prioritizing what I really need to take with me for small specific errands or destinations. Keys, dollars, ID and I am out the door.

P.S. For those of you wondering if those spikes hurt, trust me, they do!

Would you wear this? Have a great weekend everyone!

Sephora VIB ROUGE Haul Spring 2016

So, the Sephora sale has started to reside and truthfully, I'm glad it's over. I don't remember ever buying so much makeup in one sitting as I did with this sale. Even though it may not seem like much to some people, THIS was a lot for me. I am however, happy with everything I got. Everything was beautiful and some items exceeded my expectations. The only two things that I needed to restock up on was my foundation and concealer. Everything else was new and stuff that I have been wanting to try but didn't want to pay full price for it ( I have a few KVD liquid lipsticks but I don't have that particular shade). I have been having so much fun with that Urban Decay palette and I am absolutely in love with that Too Faced Blush! :)
  • Too Faced SweetHearts Perfect Flush Blush in Peach Beach
  • Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita II
  • Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Honeycomb
  • Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Lumiere in Mood Exposure
  • Urban Decay Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette
  • Urban Decay Gwen Stefani 24/7 Glide On Lipliner in Firebird
  • Sephora Collection Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer in Palmier
  • Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup in 1W1 Bone
  • Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter in Aura
Were you able to pick up anything for Sephora's sale? If not, what are some things you have been wanting to pick up? :)

Have a great rest of the week! <3,

Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Quad in Plum, Rust and Sage Swatches + Review

Hi everyone! :) I am so excited to come back with this review with my own personal, most awaited Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Quads! I ended up picking up three. I just could not choose between which ones to get.
They each retail for $26 and come with standard full sized kat von d shadows which include 3x 0.04 oz shades and 1x 0.092 oz shade. You can find these at Sephora or on Kat Von D beauty website.

PLUM QUAD ( for green eyes)
Base: matte, light rose-peach with some beige undertones
Define: matte, warm rich eggplant
Contour: matte, medium-dark mauve with cool undertones.
Highlight: matte light flesh tone with strong pink undertones

RUST QUAD ( for blue eyes)
Base: matte, very light apricot
Define: matte, medium-dark, warm chocolate brown
Contour: matte, medium toned, warm orange with a slight tan undertone
Highlight: cream white with a floating pearl finish

SAGE QUAD ( for brown eyes)
Base: matte, tan with peach undertones
Define: matte, dark emerald green
Contour: matte, medium tone taupe with very faint khaki undertones
Highlight: matte off white with yellow undertones

Each quad is intended for a certain eye color. Obviously you don't have to use a certain quad if you have a certain eye color. It's just a guide for which quad CAN flatter your particular eye color the best according to the color wheel and color theory. I love this concept of the quads!

My favorite out of these three was definitely the Plum quad followed by Rust.

All three of the Base shadows were phenomenally smooth, creamy and sooo freaking easy to blend out. These are awesome transition shades. They blended like a DREAM. That being said, I did notice a difference between the base shades and the define, contour and highlight shades. The define, contour and highlight shades were a notch less silky and less pigmented than the base shades but were still decent nonetheless. I did notice some dry texture with both SAGE and PLUMS define colors. SAGE Define color in particular was probably the least impressive of the bunch. That deep emerald was harder to work with in terms of patchiness and blendability. I was able to get the pigmentation up to 9 out of 10 but I normally wouldn't have that problem of having to build up pigmentation with Kat Von D shadows.

There is A LOT of powder kickup if you are not careful with these. Just like any other Kat Von D eyeshadow, these pressed powders are very finely milled. I personally don't mind the formula of the Kat Von D eyeshadows. I think that quality is the reason why the eyeshadows blend out so beautifully. So whenever you are working with these quads, instead of swiping your brush in the pan, you tap your brush gently to pick up product.

The coffin like packaging is super duper cute! I really the artistic idea to it but it's not the most practical. This packaging consists of hard plastic and a small mirror inside. Now the size of the mirror inside does not bother me one bit. It's the fact that it's kind of hard to use. Not impossible but yes, kind of hard. I really wish the packaging would bend flat out so the hinge could be at a 180 degree angle like the Urban Decay Naked Basics. This does not do that. It only bends 90 degrees and with an even smaller mirror than the Urban Decay Naked Basics, it just makes it a little less travel friendly.

I'm a bit torn on my final verdict. I always try to give you guys an unbiased review but I also like to put my own input because I know that I can relate to peoples honest likes and dislikes. Sooo... I think these are expensive. I'm content with them. I won't be returning them but they are expensive considering the price of Kat Von D Shade + Light palette. I paid almost double for these three mini palettes in comparison to the Kat Von D Shade +Light palette.
Rust is very easy to dupe in terms of colors. I already found something similar in my Kat Von D's Ladybird palette and a limited edition Wet n Wild trio that I have. Buuut... they are Kat Von D eyeshadows and even though some of the shades are not 100% exactly like quality of the Kat Von D Shade + Light palette, they do still function like any Kat Von D eyeshadows. They are some of the easiest to blend eyeshadows that I own. They are some of the best matte eyeshadows I own, if not the best. I am always raving about the Shade + Light palette and how Kat Von D really understands color as a true artist does and these are no exception in terms of color. I love the color selection for all three. I think they are spot on and I do still like the formula on these. However,  there are some inconsistencies with some shades. The formula was a little less pigmented with a few shades in particula but in the end, I could still work with those drier colors and build them up. So just be wary that although these are still nice quads, they are not exactly the same quality as the Shade + Light Contour palette. I think I would compare the quality of the quads more to her Mi Vida Loca Remix Holiday palette in which there were some colors that were drier and less pigmented than others.

I guess it all boils down to if you like Kat Von D eyeshadows and if there are any quad colors in particular you like to create your desired eyelook? These all have a matte finish! I expect Plum to be most people's favorite. It was certainly mine!

PROS:
-Instructional palette helps user know where and how to use palette
-Smooth and the creamiest Base colors
-Colors are customized for a specific eye color
-Very easy to blend
-Cruelty free
- Colors could be built up in pigmentation
-Comes with a mirror
-Travel friendly

NEUTRAL
-Powder kicks up when using a brush. Silky texture however helps blend shadows
-Love the coffin packaging!

CONS:
-pricey
-Formula difference between the Base shades and the Define/Contour/Highlight shades
-Some colors were not as pigmented
-The angle the palette can open to can make access to the mirror difficult.

I love Kat and the artistry she stands for. I am personally content with these. I have been waiting very patiently for these to be mine since she announced them. I look forward to rocking them! :D
Any questions, comments or concerns please let me know and I will get back to you as soon as possible!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

OPI Duo Pack Coin in My Purse Set Review + Swatches

Wow! We are finally into April! This year has been going TOO fast so far. I swear the older I get the faster time flies but it's okay. I have my makeup to comfort me ;)
I've been on a nail polish spree lately. After not painting my nails for quite some time, I have found myself getting back into it hard lately. Building up my collection again, I realized I needed a cute pink. I saw this duo set from Ulta and decided that this was for me.

This set retails for $16.95 on the Ulta website. It comes with two full sized polishes with 0.5 oz each and one coin purse.
Look at my Bow!
Look at my Bow! is a light blue toned baby pink with a cream finish. It was opaque in two coats.

Starry-Eyed for Dear Daniel

Starry-Eyed for Dear Daniel is a magenta base with tons of pink and purple finely milled glitter. Opaque in two coats.

OPI Duo Pack Coin In My Purse Set
Overall, I ended up liking Starry-Eyed for Dear Daniel better than Look at my Bow! The glitter turned out to be actually nice and not as tacky looking as I originally thought it was going to be. Whenever I think of glitter nails, I think of myself... back in middle school and high school. It's not that Look at my Bow! was bad or anything like that but I think it may look a bit off on me personally because of those blue undertones. If you personally like those bubblegum pinks, this might be a good set for you to try out. You can also save some bucks when you buy this set!

One thing that threw me off was the white Hello Kitty packaging. I thought it was going to be actually printed onto the packaging instead of it just being a little plastic. Although, I will say that the Hello Kitty plastic cover is very sturdy. I find it hard to imagine anyone ripping that limited edition packaging off by accident so I think it kind of balances itself out.

PROS:
-full sized
-comes with coin purse
-value set (save around $5)
-colors work/pair with each other

CONS:
-couldn't find any :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Wicked Honey Bee xoxo
