A Calling for Chroma: Life begun

Do you ever just look at something and just think, "Gosh, I love those colors?" Color scheme is life. It's so fun for me personally to look at colors and think, "Yes, this goes with this or no those colors don't work well together." It's something really important if you want to understand makeup even more. I actually follow a kick ass page on facebook called Design Seeds. They are constantly posting some really cool color schemes that provide color inspiration whether it be your outfit, your room colors, your makeup, scrapbooking, etc., and it in turn inspired me to start this little series of A Calling for Chroma. I really hope you enjoy my series of color schemes and I really encourage you all to find color inspiration from anything and everything! :) Have fun with it!

10 Things I am looking forward to in Spring

I absolutely love seeing anything bloom. Grass, small daisies, roses, sunflowers, tulips. You name it. I love seeing plants and vegetation grow.

It's so rare that it rains here so I really do appreciate when it finally does rain. I can literally put a thunderstorm soundtrack on at night and fall asleep to it much quicker than with no rain sounds. I love the rain. It's so perfect to stay in, order pizza and watch a good movie:)

I was willing to travel all the way to Florida JUST so I can visit their Harry Potter attraction which would have been a little difficult considering I'm on the other side of the coast and I don't know how to apparate (HP reference, wink, wink). When I found out last year that Hollywood was having a Harry Potter attraction coming, I freaked out. I am so excited! I will be visiting Diagon Alley very, very soon! Accio tickets!

Um, Kat Von D, I am looking straight at YOU. Those Mini Eye Shade palettes need to come out NOW, please!

Late, LATE Spring but still spring lol. It's been quite a few years since Finding Nemo was released and I completely wore that movie out. I love Ellen and I am super excited to hear her on the big screen.

Now this doesn't necessarily mean buy a new wardrobe. I usually just store my old clothes as the weather changes and as long as they are still in good condition. I look forward to bringing out my long skirts and some cute sandals :)

This has to be one of my favorite colors. It is such a flattering color and oh, so gorgeous. I love pairing it with gold and beige. Overall, mint just feels so right in spring.

It is one of my goals to buy my own car and I really have a mindset to have it done really, really soon!

I have lost over 40 pounds so far and I still need to lose at least another 20. I have been very dedicated but these last three weeks I have felt a little slump in my progress and whenever it's that time of the month, it gets hella hard with all the pizza cravings. The struggle is real!

I am a certified book geek! I enjoy educating myself, learning about different subjects about the world we live in as well as reading novels just for fun. So I definitely need to start making some more time for reading. I am currently reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone... for the millionth time it seems. I need to read all the way to book 7. Can you tell I'm excited for Universals? ;)

What are some things or goals you are looking forward to do in Spring?
Thanks for stopping :) Have a great day!

Nail of the day: Grapefruit Glitz

You guys! Spring is almost here and I have been feeling so inspired lately by Spring colors.

First off, I must apologize for how terrible my nails are. My hands in general have become so calloused from the work I do even though I wear gloves daily. I honestly am not really a nail girl and this picture proves it. I have stopped doing my nails months ago (almost a year ago) because of how troublesome it is for me to maintain them. But I have been wanting to get back into doing my nails. Mind you, I suck with both the grooming and the polish application but I still have fun with my little dotting tool. :) Hope you guys have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Items used:
-Ciate Rasberry Collins (Bright pink, base color)
-Ciate Life's a Peach ( light apricot dots)
-Ciate Bloom Boost (clear overcoat)
-Rhinestones from ebay
-dotting tool

Is it a dupe? Italia Ultra Fine Lip Liner in Natural Beige Vs. Too Faced Perfect Lips Lip Liner in Perfect Nude

Happy Tuesday my busy bees! I hope you all are doing well in March:) Today I wanted to talk about two products that I enjoy very much. If you know me personally, you would know that my signature lip color is nude. I love nude lipsticks. Mauve nudes, pink nudes, brown nudes. Nude lip products are a staple for me. That being said, so are lip liners! Lip liners help in prolonging the lipstick wear and can make lighter lipstick colors more wearable depending on the lipliner color. These two are my go to's whenever I am wearing a nude lipstick. These babies look very, very similar but are they dupes? Keep reading to find out!

Italia Natural Beige (left), Too Faced Perfect Nude (right)
85% Dupe
Very similar. These are definitely in the same family of nudes but not quiiiite a dupe. Italia's Natural Beige is more cool toned with more mauve undertones while Too Faced Perfect Nude is warmer with more peach undertones to it. They do however get the same job done in terms of being paired with nude lipsticks. I can use MAC's Blankety or MAC's Viva Glam 2 for either one and pretty much get the same finished color on the lips. The photo above is true to color so you can tell that there isn't much of a difference in color. The formula is what really makes them stand apart. Italia's lip liner is a lot more dry and skips more when being applied, while Too Faced glides on more smoothly and creamy. Too Faced lipliner does have a tendency to break more easily especially if lips are not exfoiliated and smooth. I like the Italia Natural Beige color more than I like Perfect Nude but I do like the texture of the Too Faced lip liner. So, I personally enjoy both :)

Italia Lip Liner:
-slightly darker, more mauve
-nude family lip liner
-traditional pencil/ requires sharpener
-sturdier but drier formula
-doesn't last as long as Too Faced
-more product: 0.04 oz
-less expensive : $1-$3 price varies by location and/or website

Too Faced lip liner:
-slightly lighter, more peach
-nude family lip liner
-twisted up pencil
-softer but creamier formula
-longer lasting
-less product: 0.01 oz
-pricier : $17

Happy Tuesday!
