Sephora Give Me Some Nude Lip Review + Swatches

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Nude Lip
Happy Hump Day! I am back featuring Sephora's Favorites Give Me Some Nude Lip kit and it's so cute! Sephora Favorites are always so much fun for me because they have such a cool selection and they are called Favorites for a reason! These kits include some of Sephoras most popular shades so you know they are going to be good!

It comes with two full sized products, Nars Lipstick in Dolce Vita and NudeStix Lip + Cheek Pencil in Whisper and three deluxe sizes which include a Laura Mercier lipstick in Milky Way, Marc Jacobs PoutLiner Longwear Lip Pencil in PrimRose and Tarte Tartiest Lip Paint in Namaste. The entire kit has 3 ml and retails for $28 on the Sephora website.

Deluxe Marc Jacobs (P)outliner Longwear Lip Pencil in Prim(rose)
Marc Jacobs in Prim(rose): a mauve lipliner

Deluxe Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Colour in Milky Way
Laura Mercier in Milky Way: warm brown nude with a sheer and glossy finish.

Full sized NudeStix Lip + Cheek Pencil in Whisper
NudeStix in Whisper: Neutral nude with pink undertones, a creamy texture, full pigmentation and a semi glossy finish.

Deluxe Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint in Namaste
Tarte in Namaste: Pink nude with a mousse like texture and full pigmentation.

Full Sized NARS lipstick in Dolce Vita

NARS in Dolce Vita: Sheer rose nude with glossy finish.

Laura Mercier Milky Way, NARS Dolce Vita, NudeStix Whisper, Tarte Namaste, Marc Jacobs Prim(rose)
Overall, I personally enjoyed this kit more than I thought I would. My favorite lippie in here would definitely have to be the NudeStix. The formula of this really surprised me. Truth be told, I didn't even know what to expect with it considering it is formulated for both lips and cheeks. The color selection was pretty good as well. I think Sephora really tries to keep in mind the many different skin tones out there so it was a good choice that the Marc Jacobs lip liner was included. That alone can help make all the other colors here much more wearable for someone that has a deeper skin tone. The NudeStix is the lightest nude in this selection while the Marc Jacobs lipliner is the darkest. I think I was expecting some straight up nudes like MAC's Myth. Does anyone else remember the craze of Myth a couple years back? These are nothing like that sort of nude lol.

PROS:
-wearable nudes
-lipliner makes it easier for deeper skin tones to use
-two full sizes
-good variety
-recyclable packaging

CONS:
-would have liked to see a mauve nude or just one shade a different tone instead of another nude pink

Thanks for stopping by everyone! It's almost Friday!:) Any questions, comments or concerns please contact me!

  • Rimmel Glam Eyes Professional Liquid Liner
The lighting in this photo is so horrible so please forgive me because I certainly forgave our beautiful rainy weather we have been having. When rain knocks at your door in California, home of the never ending drought, you best celebrate and enjoy it!

I paired this look with something very neutral on the lips because it is so very bold and it was a pretty dark eye look as well. I used MAC's Fresh Brew lipstick and skipped the blush. Some contouring and highlighting and it completed this eye look :)

Thank you for stopping by. Hope you all are doing well and have a great rest of the week!

Ending the Hunt for Lancers The Method Polish + Botanics Purifying Face Scrub Mini Review

Happy Monday! So, here is my update regarding trying to find a dupe for the Lancers The Method Polish. I wrote a post a few weeks back stating that I loved The Method polish but that I found it too expensive and so I wanted to look for something else that can get the same job done. A dupe, if you will. Although, it's not a dupe. I will say though, that I liked this better than the Lancers The Method Polish. In fact, I already purchased a backup from Ulta for when I run out of it. One point for me!

Botanics Purifying Face Scrub is the name and it can be found at Ulta, Target, Walmart and drugstores. It comes with 2.5 fl oz and retails for roughly $7 to $8. Ulta regularly has them included in their Buy one, get one for 50% off.

What I like about this is not only does it gently scrub off any dead skin my face accumulates, it also moisturizes and leaves my face creamy smooth! It contains crushed walnut shell and apricot seeds to exfoliate the while the white cream itself moisturizes. I wet my face with warm water, rub this scrub gently throughout my entire face and wash off with some fresh/cold water.

The texture was suitable for my skin type which can become sensitive. I would say my skin type is somewhere in between sensitive and normal for reference. I limit to using it twice a week. Any more usage will irritate my skin, causing redness and some tiny breakouts around my nose. Using it just twice a week is perfect. It's enough to remove the buildup of dead skin without over-exfoliating and irritating my skin. It doesn't leave my skin greasy nor dry. I felt this one left my skin more moisturized than the the Lancer The Method Polish. The Lancer would be more suitable for very, very sensitive skin since the particles are much, much more finer than the particles in this scrub.

This step is an essential for a smoother foundation application and I am so glad that I found it. I seriously love it. After I use it, I use Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel and lastly use Botanics Organic Rosewater Toning Spritz and it seals the deal.

If you are in the market for an exfoliater, I do highly recommend this one.

Botanics Purifying Face Scrub

  • more moisturizing
  • cheaper
  • larger scrub particles

Lancers The Method Polish

  • skin is neither moisturized nor dry.
  • more expensive
  • smaller scrub particles, better for sensitive skin
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great rest of the week! :)

Stress in, Stress out

Welcome back my Wicked Honey Bees! So I am currently a little busy at work with a 6 to 6 shift and working 6 days a week. It truly is the mark of the devil! Lol but hey, putting all jokes aside, more work means more money! So it works out in the end. However, more work also means more stress. I have some very simple ways I like to relax after a long day at work and I thought I would like to share with you!
  •  TAKING A SHOWER- Simple enough. Nothing beats a good hot shower. Apart from good hygiene reasons, I love using bath and body works and the body shop products resulting in some good aromatherapy. Cashmere Glow and Honeymania are my faves, respectfully.
  • PLAYING WITH MAKEUP- I love to experiment with new color combinations and sometimes I just want to wear makeup that I love around the house! Practice makes perfect!
  • READING- Books are some of this worlds greatest treasures. They have the ability to transport the reader to a whole different dimension.
  •  LISTENING TO CREEPYPASTAS- I like to read, thats true but I also enjoy the art of storytelling. Two of the creepypasta storytellers that I listen to regularly is CreepsMcPasta and MadameMacabre. Both are found on youtube and both are awesome!
  • LISTENING TO THUNDERSTORMS- When you live in a drought, it's kind of hard for rain to come by. Thank goodness for the internet! There are many videos on youtube of thunderstorms/rainstorms featuring hours of mother natures lullaby.
  •  EATING CHOCOLATE - cliche but true. A serving of chocolate does wonders for me! I LOVE chocolate! I'm like that crazed fish in the SpongeBob Squarepants episode where Spongebob and Patrick try out their luck at being entrepenurs selling chocolate. "CHOCOLLLLLLAAAAAAAATTTTTEEE!"
  • STARGAZING- Nothing puts things into perspective like looking into the night sky filled with stars. Sometimes it can be overwhelming to look up into the vast and endless night sky but it reminds me just how little I really am and that my issues, problems and worries are just as little as me.
  • MOVIE NIGHT- I love the cold weather for many reasons and one reason is because that means I can comfortably bundle up in a warm blanket, grab some hot popcorn and watch some movies at home. So comfy!!
So there you have it! These are my top picks for ways to relax. These work for me and I would love to hear what are some ways you like to de-stress from your day! Happy Friday!

Dry Spell: My Winter Skin and Hair Care

Tarte Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Tint, Bite Agave Lip Mask, Loreal Youth Code Skin Recharger, The Body Shop Shea Hand Cream, Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Loreal Age Perfect Night Cream
I prefer the winter over the summer, without a doubt. I love wearing sweaters and warm boots and bundling up under some thick, warm blankets. I don't know what happened this year since I almost never had a really BIG problem with this during winters but my skin and hair has been SUPER dehydrated. I usually just get ashy but this winter my knuckles have gotten cuts to the point where I bled because of how dry they were! Seriously, it looked like I had gotten into a fist fight with someone. My lips have also suffered chronically this winter.  God forbid I tried to smile when they were chapped. My curly hair is also so dried out. It had so many knots and tangles. This has been the most difficult for me to try to hydrate as curly hair is naturally drier than other hair types.
  • Tarte Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Tint (lips)
  • Bite Agave Lip Mask (lips)
  • Loreal Youth Code Skin Recharger (face)
  • The Body Shop Shea Hand Cream (hands)
  • Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil (hair)
  • Loreal Age Perfect Night Cream (skin)
Using these have definitely improved the condition of my skin and hair. The Shea Moisture has been amazing with getting rid of frizz and softening my hair. My hair still feels very dead at the ends which probably means I just need a trim for those pesky split ends :/  As for my knuckles, now I have scars but on them but they look and feel much better!

What has been your winter skin and hair care?
