Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette Review and Swatches

Urban Decay released this beautiful warm toned palette for Summer 2017 and it's so gorgeous! As soon as I saw the colors I knew I had to get my hands on this. This palette retails for $54.

I love the brushes that the naked palettes come with. This brush was no exception. It's soft and blends beautifully!

Ounce:  a light peach base nude with irridescent shimmer, was slightly translucent with a soft finish.
Chaser: neutral, light, tan with a satin finish. great color for transition or base color.
Sauced: a light tan with a matte finish.
Low Blow: neutral light to medium toned caramel brown with a matte finish.
Lumbre: soft, light coral pink  with a gold shift and shimmery finish.
He Devil: warm terracotta with a matte finish.
Dirty Talk: warm, orange-red based copper with shimmer finish.
Scorched: pink based copper with glitter and shimmer finish.
Cayenne: warm midtone rustic brown with a matte finish.
En Fuego: midtone burgundy with matte finish.
Ashes: Chocolate brown with a plum undertone and a matte finish.
Ember: Cool toned, dark ashy brown with gold and pink shift and shimmer finish.

Overall, it was a hit and miss with this palette. I think the two eyeshadows that needed work and DEFINITELY needed a primer was Ashes and En Fuego. These two were the only ones that were very dry in texture. They were very blendable but as you can see in the photo above, they did not perform well with a brush and no primer. They needed a primer as well as being built up in color. However, they were still workable. That being said, I think Urban Decay really needs to step it up, seeing how so many other companies are producing well rounded palettes such as the Anastasia Beverly Hills palette which has no duds with any of the eyeshadows. In other words, I would have liked to see some more consistency in the mattes.
Another thing I noticed with this palette is how some of the shades are a little too similar to one another so it was a little difficult to get really contrasting eyelooks from this palette. I think UD could have skipped on Cayenne and had a true gold in here. Lumbre is STUNNING but since it has those copper undertones it doesn't contrast as much as a gold would. So in my opinion, Cayenne (even though it's gorgeous) should have been dropped as well Sauced (since it's similar to Low Blow) and add a light shimmering gold and a midtone neutral burnt mustard yellow instead to add some variation while still maintaining that "heat theme".
Other than those two issues, I still think this is a very beautiful palette and one I would still use and love because I simply love these kind of colors. The rest of the eyeshadows are all so creamy and smooth and beautifully pigmented. These colors are right on trend. I would say it's very comparable in terms of colors to the Morphe 35O if you interested a more affordable and better deal.

PROS:
-good urban decay price value
-brush is very good
-travel friendly
-cruelty free
-permanent

CONS:
-not enough contrast between colors
-Ashes and En Fuego were uneven, dry and had to be worked up with

Sephora VIB ROUGE Birthday Gift 2017

Hi peeps! Finally! I always feel like I'm the last person to get the Sephora Birthday gift even though it's obviously not true since we are halfway through the year. I'm just always so excited for it! This year for Sephoras VIB ROUGE Birthday Gift, I picked Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12 Hour blush in Paaarty and Tarte's Tartiest Lip Paint in Birthday Suit, both which are deluxe sizes.

Tartiest Lip Paint in Birthday Suit, Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Paaarty
I do kind of wish this was better suited to more different skin tones. I felt it works beautifully on me but thats only because I'm pretty light. Other than that, I think this selection of products, both blush and lip product was a really cute gift this year! :)

Thank you for stopping by, have a great week!

Kat Von D Blotting Powder in Light Review

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to review the new Kat Von D Blotting Powder. I have to admit. The packaging totally sucked me in. But other than that.. I'm a huge sucker for Kat Von D makeup just as a whole. The company itself is just awesome so without further ado, here is the Kat Von D Blotting Powder which retails for $29. There are four shades: Fair, Light, Medium and Deep. I only have Light.

Butters helped model for me again!
The compact is so beautiful! It looks like a black, wax seal with the Kat Von D logo
This compact comes with a very nice mirror that is pretty much the entire size of the compact, which I love! It's really handy for when you're on the go! It also comes with a thin sponge to keep within the compact.

I actually really liked this product. It did exactly what it was made to do which is to touch up makeup and help keep the face matte. It is not a foundation and it's not meant to be which explains why it has such sheer coverage. I bought this specifically for touch ups and to keep in my makeup bag when I'm on the go and not necessarily to set my foundation although I can use it for that as well.
The texture is beautiful and silky. It's so soft and applies evenly and smoothly on the skin using both a brush and the sponge it comes with.
The pan is also removable from the compact. On the bottom of the compact is a tiny hole in which you can poke a needle or a paper clip to push out the pan. It makes depotting so much easier if you do wish to depot it into a palette.
Since it is sheer, I think thats why there isn't that many shades to choose from. Being a sheer powder, helps the translucent powder blend into your skintone much more easily. I would however would like to see at least two more shades in the range, specifically some darker shades.

PROS:
-comes with mirror
-keeps face matte
-good for touch ups (sheer powder)
-vegan
-cruelty free
-cute packaging!
-easier to depot

CONS:
-would like to see a few more shades available (only four shades available)

Thank you for stopping by! Hope you guys have a fantastic week! :)

Sample Sunday... would I purchase it? Bite Beauty Multistick

Happy Sunday! Well very late Sunday but still nonetheless Sunday! :) I have been going through my makeup collection and I really want to and need to start putting my samples to good use. Samples are a great way to try something before purchasing or all together stop your impulse buy. This is just my own quick, first impressions on a product and to let you guys know if I am interested in actually buying a product.

And todays product is... Bite Beauty Multistick. I absolutely love Bite Beautys lip products. So is this on my next wish list? Keep reading to find out! :)

At this point in time, I wouldn't purchase it. Simply because it isn't for me. This is a cream to powder finish. So since I personally prefer powders over liquid or cream products on the cheeks, it just doesn't suit my personal needs. And since it does have that that powder finish, it doesn't leave my lips how I like it. The lips definitely has a powdery almost dry feeling. This does have a satin finish and the texture of the sample in the plastic well is hard which doesn't surprise me since this is a face product as well. I wasn't expecting it to be too creamy. That being said the product was picked up very easily with both a finger and brush. It's also safe to say that this is very pigmented and very blendable.

I think this product is much more suitable for someone on the go or someone who prefers a smaller makeup collection.

Are you interested in or have bought the Bite Beauty Multistick?

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Kitten Karma review and swatch

Hi peeps! So this is something I have been seeing quite frequently on youtube with rave reviews. I thought hmmm.... a glitter thats easy to use? I love glitters but I get impatient applying them. So I thought I would give this a whirl!

The Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow retails for $24 and comes with 4.5ml

Overall, this is a fantastic product! Just think about it, it's like getting three products in one: the eyeshadow base color, the glitter adhesive and the glitter itself. The eyeshadow base color or the pigmentation that you can see above helps the glitter not look so scarce. I would say the pigmentation is medium which is good enough since the glitter is going to be up front and center. The adhesive for the glitter is already provided to you! I did not have to use any form of glitter glue whatsover! And then there is the glitter itself. This is such a great product for people who love shimmers and glitter but have difficulty or don't have the time to apply glitter the traditional way. This cuts time and products. I cannot stress enough what an amazing product this is. The only downside I would say is that this is definitely not waterproof so be aware of that. Another thing I would like to point out is that there is very minimal glitter fallout throughout the day.

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Kitten Karma on lid
I took the above photo slightly blurry to try to capture some of the glitter. If you have ever tried to photograph glitter you know how hard it can be lol! Photos don't do it justice!

These are what the MakeupGeek Sparklers wish they were, both a pigment and glitter. These however take it up a notch and apply in one swipe, no extra adhesive needed. Take my word for it, this is a such a beautiful product. Great for parties and for whenever you want to glam up your eyes. I will definitely be buying some more shades once the VIB sale comes around. Give these a try if you are into glitters, you won't regret it!

PROS:
-very easy to work and use
-beginner friendly for glitter users
-pigmented/ there is pigmentation and not just glitter
-glitter is not scarce
-no need for adhesive
-minimal fallout

CONS:
-not waterproof

Hope you guys have a wonderful day!
xoxo,
Wicked Honey Bee
